How to Get A Valannia Hero

This guide outlines the process of acquiring a hero in Valannia, whether through the initial minting process or by purchasing one on the marketplace.

A Hero is your character in Valannia, the central NFT around which all of your adventure revolves, including your abilities and the army you command.

A Simple Guide to Buying a Valannia Hero

There are two primary ways to acquire a Hero: Minting (initial acquisition) or Purchasing (via the marketplace).

Choosing Your Race

Before acquiring a hero, you must commit to one of the eight available races. This is the single most important choice you make in Valannia. In Valannia, you cannot use heroes or combat units outside of your chosen race! Keep that in mind when making any purchase or race selection!

• Race is Permanent: Once the choice of race is made, it cannot be changed.
• Race Determines Combat: The hero’s race is crucial in combat strategy, as races have different combat styles and different innate abilities associated with their heroes and combat units.

Buying a Specific Hero

You can go directly to the marketplace and buy a specific hero from another player who has already minted it.

Since heroes are NFTs, they can be traded on the marketplace. Buying on the marketplace allows you to guarantee the specific hero and its associated traits that you desire for your gameplay.

Minting a Hero

Valannia has had three different mints thus far:

• Origin Collection – Founder’s mint in 2024
• Heroes Beyond Collection –
• Risen Collection – Free Mint Nov 4, 2025

Note on Selection: Players do not choose which of the heroes they receive; the process is based on probability after the race is selected or mechanics for that specific mint.

Determining Hero Traits and Abilities

When a player mints a hero (which is an NFT), its abilities are randomly assigned.

1. Unique Ability: Every hero has a fourth ability that is unique to them and does not vary. This ability represents the “distinctive ability” of that hero and is often the most powerful one.
2. Random Abilities (3 Skills): In addition to the unique ability, each hero has 3 abilities that are randomly chosen from a pool of 5 abilities defined for the heroes of that race.
   • Each of the 5 skills in the pool has a 20% chance of appearing in the hero’s NFT.
3. Collector Borders (Visual Traits): Heroes may also possess Collector Borders, which are visual elements that do not impact gameplay but are collectible. These borders have varying levels of rarity.
